What is a Birth Kit?
Essential birth items that help support a safe birth outcome for mother and baby. Clean birth kits help prevent maternal and neonatal deaths due to infection, preventing nearly 1 million deaths per year. 

Birth Kit Drive Supplies:

  • Sterile gauze pads 3×3
  • Gloves size medium and large
  • Sterile gloves size 7-7.5
  • Suture vicryl or chromic gut 3.0 taper needle
  • Plastic sheeting
  • Razor blades
  • Chux underpads
  • Maxi pads (non-scented)
  • Menstrual cups
  • Non-scented individual bars of soap
  • Rolls of sterile string
  • Baby blankets, gently used or new
  • Baby shirts, gently used or new
  • Baby onesies, gently used or new
  • Baby hats, gently used or new
